Description

Found in an old email (20101119).

After starting the C5GUI from the command line, when quitting by selecting the appropriate menu item [C5 -> Quit C5], the executable prints out

*************************
*** IMMINENT DISASTER ***
*************************

>>> CoCoA::GlobalManager being destroyed while CoCoA objects still live! <<<

No such problem occurs if the quit is effected by the Ciao command.

The problem persists, but the error message is less alarming now:

============================================
>>> CoCoA: PROBLEM DURING FINAL CLEAN-UP <<<
============================================

--------------------------------------------------------------
>>> CoCoA::GlobalManager dtor: CoCoA objects still live! <<<
--------------------------------------------------------------

I confirm that typing in ciao; seems to exit cleanly. I wonder what the difference might be.

I have added Uli as a watcher in case he happens to have an idea how to resolve this... he seems to be a Qt magician :-)

A possibly related curiosity is that when one exits the GUI by typing in ciao; it is necessary to dismiss a small pop-up "ciao" window twice. Why twice?
