Lorenzo, from the
Maths Department of the University of
Genoa (Italy), is a well known researcher on the algorithmic aspects of
Commutative Algebra. Moreover, he is one of the founders of the
specialized computer algebra system CoCoA, and has been the leader of
its development and dissemination for over twenty years.
Lorenzo is also
well known to the international community for the organization of the
series of COCOA
conferences and of the international postgraduate school bearing the same
name.
Many of us have appreciated the fruits of his labours, and some
have even eaten them!
The Conference will be held at Barcelona, Spain (12-13th June 2009),
hosted by
the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of
Barcelona: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes 585
(map).
The Conference will include lectures by some
keynote speakers and talks by
participants who have previously submitted a proposal to the
organizing committee.
This celebratory conference will take place between
COCOA
School 2009 and MEGA 2009,
all of them being in Barcelona.
The dinner and dancing party will be in the
restaurant (in the center of Barcelona),
Catalonia Duques de
Bergara.
