Current work done for CANDEMAT (mould construction for the automotive industry):
mould definition is provided by the customer (VW, Renault, ...) as a collection of thousands of geometric entities (parametric surfaces or curves, lines, points, etc). Usually the IGES standard is used and each entity requires a concrete specification.
a NC machine is used to produce the mould, a great precision is required.
control of the NC machine and quality verification of the final product is done by means of the CSIS software developed at CANDEMAT.
our work is to generate the procedures for CSIS from the mould definition
The team includes civil engineers working in the Applied Math department, mathematicians and computer scienti
