MinPoly    --    minimal polynomial of a matrix

Syntax

MinPoly(M: MAT, X: RINGELEM): RINGELEM

Description

Thanks to Maria-Laura Torrente.

This function returns the minimal polynomial of the matrix M in the indeterminate X (with M a square matrix whose entries lie in the coefficient ring of X, or in the same ring as X but not dependent on X). See also CharPoly .
